Detroit Auto Show: Ford is all Caught Up (and then some)

For the last handful of people who haven't noticed, technology and brand name electronics are the horsepower wars of today. Ford has been a little behind in this area lacking even widespread availability of navigation systems until recently. But with its new "Sync" product (first showing up on the redesigned Focus and Five Hundred) they're catching up and hoping to pass the competition in one giant leap forward.

Microsoft powers Ford's new wired and wireless in-car technology so Bill Gates joined the Ford presentation via a large video screen from the Consumer Electronics Show...

Look for the speech to text, Bluetooth and music player  friendly (yes iPod too) technology to show up on 12 Ford, Lincoln and Mercury vehicles in the near future. Sync will be an exclusive Ford product initially. - Brian Moody
