Chinese automaker Chamco holds its own show in Detroit

Another Chinese-American company, China America Cooperative Automotive Inc. (Chamco), whose management includes executives who quit U.S. entrepreneur Malcolm Bricklin's venture to import Chinese cars, is making its own plans to sell cars built in China in the United States...
Just a few blocks from the "Big Show" at Cobo Hall was the "Little Show," held by Chamco. On display there was a midsize SUV and a crew cab pickup, which they hope to sell here in the States. The pickup's price will start at $13,250, making it rather compelling, as well not good news for established brands in this market slot.

The pick up looks interesting, like to know more specs on it.

The truck looks like an old Frontier.

This is exciting. I remember when trucks were about $13K. Back then there wasn't this huge demand for the things.

I found the company in China that would making the cars Chamco wants to import. They have an SUV that reminds me of a Montero Sport and 2 pickups. One looks a lot like an older Frontier and the other looks like an 80's Toyota pick up with a new grill and dashboard.

As long as the price is right (meaning really cheap) they should do well. I like the diesel engines, if they bring those then they might have a jump on the competition. Likely won't meet the new standards though.
