I posted back in October that I thought Bob Lutz has made a huge positive impact on GM (Bob Lutz, the man with the Midas touch
). It took a few years, which was to be expected, but the cars and trucks now rolling into GM showrooms around the country are proof positive that the hiring of Bob Lutz was a good idea. David Zola over at WardsAuto.com thinks so too, as he has written an editorial to that effect. Full story here ...

Have to agree with you. The proof afterall is in the pudding. Aura, CTS, Malibu, Volt, Enclave, Silverado, Tahoe/Yukon, Solstice, Sky, Camaro...the list could go on. All drastically improved in both materials styling but most importantly design. And now that GM swept NA car and truck of the year there is no longer even a question of whether Lutz has made an impact. I do think it is important to note he has had some good help as Lutz could not have even designed one of these cars by himself. He's quiet and often go unheralded but Ed Wellburn was brought in as head of design about the same time Lutz came in and is truly a designer with great vision. The two make an amazing team as is now on display for all to see.

Kudos to Lutz. I must say, I have been disappointed in the delay for Lutz's intervention, but now it seems GM is up and running. If only I could say the same for Ford...
