Good, because it's not like reading the newspaper is any less dangerous than using a cell phone. And I've seen people do that. Cell phones just seem to get all the press.

The UK is really becoming a police state when it comes to driving. Speeding cameras all over the place, extra charges to drive in downtown London, and now this. Sucks to drive a car there I guess.

Good. Dunno if jail time is gonna be an effective deterence (much like drunk driving), but it's a move in the right direction. I'm also glad that they get people for causing problems with cell phones rather than getting anyone using a cell phone. Using a cell phone should be like having a radar detector: automatic ticket for any offense.

I agree ateixeira. But cell phones get all the press because that's by far the largest observed distraction of the many that I see among drivers today. While it's a small overall total of all possible distractions, no single other thing seems to be close.
