The car enthusiasts news blog from Inside Line

Noted car site caught up in controversy

According to Autoblog , auto site Winding Road , pulled a fast one on the auto paparazzi. They taped up a Corvette, drove it around in hopes of the fake being photographed as a "spy shot," to see if it would be picked up by other news outlets.

Well, as you might have expected—yep, that's exactly what happened.  And... also as expected, some of these news sources caught with their pants down, are none to happy with the Winding Road stunt (aka Borat's Excellent Adventure)...
I see it as just more evidence that being in the Internet news and/or blog business, where information is transfered at warp speed, can be a bit risky if not down right embarrassing at times.

I think this prank was hilarious. All's fair, considering these are SPY photographers, after all, i.e. not exactly the most honest bunch. They are paid to sneak around!
