If you're into big pickupsâI mean really big pickups, this site is for you...
Apparently there are a lot of guys out there who like the idea of a Ford F-650 pickup, as this site attests to. Ford knows there's a market out there for larger pickups, as they will now offer a factory F-450 crew cab model for the '08 model year.
If they can do an F-450, an F-550 would be a piece of cake, as they share virtually all the same body parts; and then the next logical step would be to offer a F-650 pickup...
So why not also offer an F-750, if you can do a F-650? Well, you could, but you would need to have a commercial truck drivers license to drive one. Most F-650s top out at a 26K GVW (one model goes to 29K), which is the most allowed for a conventional drivers license. The F-750, however, goes up to 33K GVW.

I was looking through Ford's website for pricing on these trucks, and surprisingly, the 750 is only $62K, maxed out. A loaded 350 gets up to $57K. I would say the 750 is a deal.

Look how high that bed is, though. Doesn't that limit the usefullness?

LOL... usefullness!? Obviously you don't understand the point of giant trucks. Here in truck country (lower midwest) we know that the purpose of a pickup has little or nothing to do with usefullness. In fact the point of big trucks might just be to be as useless as possible. Of course, like the rest of the world, we still aren't sure exactly what the purpuse is, but its definately not to be useful.
A co-worker just told me "that thing would look sweet in my carport... i could pull my house with that" no joke.

You Midwesterners must have soft hands and pretty boy show trucks, because here in Texas (REAL truck country) we have plenty of uses for a truck like this. Just add a hydraulic lift tailgate and build some fold out ramps and it would be just as functional as an F-350. Or add a Western Hauler Bed to pull just about any gooseneck or fifth-wheel. You could add a wrecker rig have a heavy duty wrecker, or add a dump bed kit to the existing bed and have a pick-up/dump truck. Or better yet you could load it up with beer, women and buddies and have one hell of a beach cruiser.
Useless......HUH!

lol
I grew up in Nacogdoches, TX (east TX) and we had every variation of truck you could possibly imagine. I've seen trucks with 6' (yes, they measure in feet) lifts with rope ladders and gigantic superswamper tires. And just so you know, that's not abnormal! Mudding is the favorite pasttime in that area.

ranger_irs,
you're mostly right, there are a lot of showy trucks around here. crew cab f-350s used for commuting and such. there are plenty of truck work trucks, but they tend to be owned by the company's, they arent the dailey drivers. the break down goes something like, drive the showy truck to work, use a work truck at work, and use the old beater for muddin.
and as soon as they put a beach in lower midwest, im on board with the beer and women.
