2006 LA Auto Show:
We've already had the chance to drive BMW's striking hydrogen-fueled 7 Series experimental car, the Hydrogen 7, but it was unveiled to the world here just now. The word "sustainability" cropped a lot in the BMW presentation (as it did in Rick Wagoner's speech this morning -- obviously the new catchword). Michael Ganal, member of the board of management of BMW, said, "The Hydrogen 7 proves that we are already able to use deep-cooled liquid hydrogen as fuel in an internal-combustion engine for everyday use."
Tom Purves, chairman and CEO of BMW North America, called the H7 "a hydrogen car that's fun to drive, an environmentally friendly car you'll want to own."
The reveal of the car had it emerging from within a giant block of mock ice. Cool, in more ways than one...

I guess this is good. Some times the rich have to be the pioneers of a new technology because they have the means to afford it.
