Mazda Tribute spy shots leaked

The folks at Autoblog have found some images of the redesigned Tribute .

Now before you get all excited that Mazda has done another Zoom-Zoom all-new design, be forewarned that this new(?) vehicle merely completes the Escape/Mariner/Tribute triptych.

Think another Ford Ranger/Mazda B-Series-like deal here, and you pretty much have the full story here; badge engineering at its very best (or very worst depending on your point of view).

So how does this fit in with the CX7/CX9?..
Frankly, I'm not sure, as they are all cute-utes—except that this one is Zoomless-Zoomless.

Cx-5? Wonder if it'll be available as a hybrid...

CX7 is too expensive to replace the Tribute, so they had to keep it in the lineup. Ford can build these things dirt cheap.

This thing can be had for the price of a Mazda5. A bargain, if you're able to swallow the styling without regret.

Wow, that interior looks blatantly Fordesque. I'm instantly reminded of the Ford Escape and the Isuzu Axiom.

It's a mystery why anyone would buy one over a Mazda5.

Ford sucks, they need to make the styling Mazda, not slap a mazda badge on a escape, they could have atleast givin it a sleek design, not that block of crap...

I HATE it when manufatures do that It doesn't bother me that they are all based on the same platform just give them different styling, worst part about american car makers they overuse the option, thats why they are all losing so much money, cuz there cheap and think its alright to put a mazda badge on an escape and think its actually a mazda...

Mazda has never failed the "zoom zoom" factor in a car, unless Ford tells them to drop it. Personally, Mazda should drop Ford. If there is going to be a new Tribute, let it be all Mazda. O yea, Mazda, what are you doing with the B series, I think after some 18 plus years it needs a redesign.
