General Motors NOT Moving to LA

2006 LA Auto Show:

In the runup to the keynote speech kicking off the Los Angeles auto show, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa invited GM Chairman Rick Wagoner to move his company to this city. When Mr. Wagoner got to the podium, the first thing he said was that he has to trim back all the complimentary things he was going to say about LA, because in light of the mayor's invitation, those statements could "imply more than I want to speak to at this point."
