Toyota to offer a Special Edition TRD FJ Cruiser for 2007

Toyota will offer a Special Edition TRD-equipped FJ Cruiser for 2007. Well, you knew it had to happens sooner or later—so why not the former?

The TRD FJ Cruiser will no longer have the signature white roof, but instead will be offered only in black monotone, with gun metal gray painted finished wheels and wrapped with uprated BF Goodrich All-Terrain sneakers. The Special Edition package also includes a two-in-one AM/FM audio and six-disc CD changer, quickshifter (manual transmission models only) and all-weather front and rear cargo floor mats with a TRD logo.

More important is what happens under the skin...
It will come with TRD/Bilstein red off-road shocks. The new shocks supposedly will reduce squat and dive, and will enhance straight-line stability. It also includes combining the locking diff with the Active Control computer, which should help the FJ when rock crawling. Finally it will also include a TRD performance exhaust and rock rails.

Expect to see the TRD FJ in Toyota stores in early November. More info here.

I don't see how they can reduce squat and dive yet increase off road capability at the same time. If TRD really does tune this thing for pavement I'm sure it'll be less capable off road.
