I do not like this at all, I dont even like the "SUV" version, thats hideous, IMHO

I like it. At least you can see somewhat out the back, unlike the production version.

I would not call dibs on that back seat.

My guess is that there is no rear seat, or if there is it would be like the fold-up rear seats found on small extended cab pickups. I would consider the space back there for secure cargo storage, whereas the the "bed" is used for weather-proof stuff like tools, outdoor gear, etc.
I actually like this a lot better than the current FJ. I would love to see Toyota offer it for sale.

Reminds me of the Subaru Baja, with the same problems that model has. Both the cab and the bed are too small. They need to give up cab space to make the bed a useful size. You can't even fit a bike in there.

I think of it more as Toyota's answer to the 2-door Wrangler, not the Baja.

The rear seat is still in there, and from the look of it, I think it is still in the same place. The rear cab wall has basically been brought right up behind the headrests. I'll have a test sit after the show re-opens this morning.

I just sat in the rear seat of this rig, and it seems to be a regular-sized seat sitting in the standard location. But I'm not sure if they can produce this concept as-is for two reasons: (1) The rear glass, which is rolled down on this concept vehicle, is *right* behind a raised headrest. The two might even touch when the glass is up. (2) There are no rear shouldler belts - or shoulder belt anchors - in this car, as the little rear quarter windows look like they sit right where the upper seatbelt anchor points should be. I hope they can figure these details out and build it.

I like it too. Since when has practicality been a big concern for the dudes that drive Jeeps?
Now, put on a slightly longer bed, and I'd really dig it. Of course that would intrude on Tacoma territory, but I think it would be distinct enough to sell to its own audience.

Rather impressive. Its radical looking. If Toyota puts a more realistically economical upgraded engine and extend the wheelbase a little to fit a more comfortable rear seat, it'll definitely be a hit just like the regular FJ.

Leave it alone. This is perfect. Everyone wanting a larger bed: buy a Tacoma. Everyone wanting more rear seat room: buy a 4Runner.
Don't change a thing. Best detail: the 'TOYOTA' script on the tailgate.
I'll buy one. This is miles better than the Jeep Wrangler.

I have a 2007 FJ Cruiser and I love it, and love this Safary truck, the bed size is just perfect made for outdoor laggage and camping gear not for hauling or costruction, looks great and will sell if Toyota decides to put in production.
