Borgward brand to be revived

Inside Line reports that German car brand Borgward is about to be resurrected. Christian Borgward, grandson of company founder Carl Borgward, is the man behind the resurrection.

"We have received a lot of interest from venture capitalists, especially from the Asian region, keen to invest in a traditional German carmaker," says Borgward.

Okay, it's great to see an old nameplate being brought back to life, but I gotta ask: Is there room (or a need) for another German premium brand?

What a horrible name. Sounds like the sister school to Hogwarts in the Harry Potter books.

I learned to drive in a Borgward Isabella Wagon with a 4 speed on the column. My family owned an elephant gray 4 door sedan as well. It was a well built, albeit dull car (you wouldn't believe what I did to that car as a kid). The Volvos they bought afterward seemed like sports sedans. What legacy would this brand have? It's not like the Mini brand that people longed to see reveived. This seems like an April Fools joke.
