Viper-powered Tomahawk to be offered for sale

Remember the Tomahawk , which debuted a few years ago on the auto show circuit? Maybe a better question would be: How could you forget it?

There had been some speculation that it might actually see limited production, and apparently the-powers-that-be at DaimlerChrysler have given the green light. The 500 hp V-10 Frankencycle will be marketed as the Chrysler (not Dodge) Tomahawk, and will cost a cool $250,000, give or take a few pennies...

Don't forget to check out the video on this site...
I found it interesting in that they didn't show it banked over going through some twisties.

I know there are some bikers on the Inside Line payroll. Karl, Kevin, anyone else? You guys game?

I can't believe they're not afrad of the liability - some famous guy dies in one of these and they could lose millions.

As for the handling - I too noticed the video only shows it going in a very straight line.

Same as some muscle cars from the early 70s, though, all about straight line power.

Oooor not:

"There has been no decision to produce the Dodge Tomahawk," Chrysler design spokesman Sam Locricchio told Leftlane News. "The vehicle remains a design exercise to underscore — in an extreme fashion — the performance elements that make up the Dodge brand," Mr. Locricchio said. "[The Tomahawk is] purely a concept to date." Upon further research, it seems the weblog that started the Tomahawk rumor was citing outdated information from shortly after the concept's deb

Such is life in the blog business, as you rarely get a chance to prove the accuracy of what you post. You pick up info from other news sources, hoping they're correct. Sometimes they're not...

Slow news day? No, not really.
