So you think you can out-run the London Bobbies? I don't think so, as their latest "pursuit " vehicle is a Renault F1 racer.
Snippet: A police spokesman said: "We've invested in two of these new vehicles in order to ensure that any miscreants making off from a crime scene by car will be apprehended.
"There's only a few problems...
"However, in this we can catch anything. The only real problem is that we don't dare switch it off while filling up at the local Tescos, since it takes three blokes and a load of kit to restart it.

They shouldn't have any trouble catching someone with that.

Pray it doesn't rain, and that the suspect is not gone by the time you get yourself in and out of the car. And pray that the suspect doesn't ram you. And pray that there are no rocks or bumps on the road. And pray that there are no dirt roads. And pray you are not rebuilding the engine while sometihng big is going down. And pray you do not run out of gas while you're sitting in traffic. And pray some SUV driver does not fail to see you out their side window while changing lanes.
Otherwise it really is an awesome police car.

Don't these engines last about 1000 miles? And the tires about 150 miles? Seems to me all the bank robbers need are a full tank of gas and they'll get away easily. LOL

Agreed with the above comments. Just doesn't seem like the best value proposition. At least that Lamborghini that the Italian police have is slightly realistic.
