Ford and Ghosn—again

Now that alliance talks between GM, Nissan and Renault have stalled, there are new reports that Ford may enter the game if and when GM opts out.

The big hang-up between GM and Nissan/Renault is on purchasing and vehicle development. If there is to be common parts purchasing, that means there has to be some shared development of future products between all parties. GM is apparently balking at this...
So executives from the Renault-Nissan team and Ford have been (quietly) in touch with one another in the past month. Stay tuned folks, as this isn't over yet.
