Bridgestone wireless tire monitoring system

Bridgestone is working on a new wireless tire monitoring system . The system has sensors just under the tire rim, and all you have to do is walk up to the tire with the handheld device, and press a button. An alarm will go off if the tire pressure is either too high or too low.

I wonder if they affect wheel balance?

And what about battery replacement?

I don't find a good gauge very hard to use, but for a fleet this might make sense.
