Some sites are calling this the next generation Honda Pilot, but that may not be entirely accurate. Although the front end is obviously a new design, according to our local spy shooters the rest of this prototype may be nothing more than an Acura MDX test mule. By grafting the Pilot's new nose onto the front end of an already existing prototype, Honda's engineers can test the effects of the new design on the cooling system without revealing the rest of the SUV's new look. We'll keep an eye out for further details on these prototypes, but assume for now that you haven't seen the 2008 Honda Pilot just yet.

I hope this is not the Pilot. Honda/Acura's SUV shapes keep getting less and less practical.
That would give up both visibility and space, for style that appears to be questionable at best.

Looks like they are going with the Ridgeline grill...which I hate. +10 points for trying to get more exciting than the current CRV, -100 points for execution.

Yeah. They got them shortly before the design of the Ridgeline. That's why GMs latest cars and SUVs are knockouts while Honda's keep getting uglier. FWIW, the Ridgeline really needed to share styling with the Pilot, regardless of whether it reinforced opinions that the Ridgeline was nothing more than a Pilot with a bed in back.

I agree with all the comments above. I don't like this design AT ALL! It's just plain ugly. The pilot is ok looking to begin with, I am dead set on buying a Pilot next year, but if it looks like this, I'm probably going to go with a 4Runner. I love Honda, always have. My last 3 cars have been honda, I was disappointed when they changed the look of the Accord, but it wasn't too bad. However, this just looks like an oversized hearse.

Not the 2008 Pilot, just the 2007 MDX with a different (hopefully temporary, and not 2008 Pilot nose). All body shapes are identical to the MDX.

I think the best Honda SUV would be to take the Ridgeline and inclose the back to make a true SUV with 3 rows.
This would be great. You can't fit anything in the 3rd row of a pilot except for a Loft a Bread, a Stick of Butter, and a Gallon of Milk.
Come on make something that's a true SUV.
