Mazda capsized ship follow-up

If you recall, the cargo ship Cougar Ace carrying Mazda vehicles capsized a few weeks ago off the coast of Alaska. Well, here's the latest update and status of that ship. It's now securely moored in Wide Bay, as crews work to pump water out of the ship.

The ship has more than 4,800 vehicles on board, and is listing about 80 degrees to its port side...

According to that link it's now only listing at about 57 degrees and they're going to continue pumping until they completely right the ship.

I'm still waiting for a salvage crew member to shimmy down into the cargo hold and take some photos to upload to the net. Even if all the chains held, there's got to be battery acid and gas and oil dripping around on the cars.

Could be an interesting scratch and dent sale in the offing (if you'll pardon the obscure nautical pun).
