Loremo AG diesel claims 157 mpg

The fact that the Loremo AG diesel claims 157 mpg is not too much of a surprise when you consider it has a 2-cylinder engine, and weighs less than 1000 pounds. Neither does the top speed of 100 mph or a 0–60 in ten seconds. You just can't beat a great power-to-weight ratio.

Best news is that it will cost around $13,000...
This is a news story worth following. Do you think it stands a chance of success?

For $13k it would have to be very cheaply built.

Diesels cost more than gas engines, not less. So think of this as a Honda Insight competitor, perhaps. It would likely run $20 grand or so and seat just 2 people.

wow, that's really cool and for 13 grand? not bad. though, I dunno about those 2 cylinders...might make it a bit un-refined, plus who knows about safety etc...as far as looks go, not too bad, the roofline sorta looks like a 911, all they gotta do now is fix that gaping hole in the front end, and replace those cheap looking wheels with some non-shiny ones and I think it would be ok. I mean man 157? that's realistically what? 120? 130? can't really complain when you're getting that sorta milage.
