Hyundai Veracruz shows its face

No doubt this image of the new Hyundai Veracruz is not from official sources. You can thank some lucky photographer as to being in the right spot and at the right time.

In any event, it's a handsome bugger, at least from what is shown here. If the rumors about size hold up, expect this to be a hot new addition to the midsize SUV market (well, at least hot in a now lukewarm segment)...

Looks good to me.

The Santa Fe is greatly improved and this should be a bit bigger, so it should be a practical family vehicle. I'd like to see them work on their fuel efficiency with those big V6s, and try to match Toyota's 3.5l for power and efficiency.

Nice rip-off of the Subaru B9 Tribeca. Has Hyundai ever had an original thought?

odd placement of the hyundai badge. Needs a diesel.

I agree mercedesman1. It's not the worst I've ever seen, but it's also not the best by a long shot in terms of styling.

It looks like a smiling Ford Freestyle.

I like it better than the bland mazda cx-9 and ugly tribeca/freestyle/pacifica. The GMC Acadia also looks promising and the next generation Highlander might also fit this niche nicely. This class of vehicle is attractive to families who want three rows of useable seating but abhor minivan styling and don't want the Tahoe/Durango/Expedition beasts. Some of us need family room but don't need to tow a boat. I also like the fact that it will have 50/50 split third row fold-in-the-floor seats.

Saw some interior pics, not really liking that half moon on the top of the dash. Rest looks good, though.

From what little we can see in this one photo, I think that Hyundai has come up with another "bold move". I like the hood with its fender bulges, but I do agree that the grill is a little...aesthetically challenged. I also don't like the location of the logo.

Can't wait to see more photos.

blogger your a joker

Hyundai is going to eat toyota alive soon. Your comments are worthless

Hyundais jump has been just massive, their next sonatas, elatnra etc will be scary. (hyundais focus now is to create the best engines in the world)

no car maker right now works as hard as hyundai period

It's funny that you mention that cobbler22. That was pretty much my first thought upon seeing this photo- looks like the Toyota pimple moved to the bottom of the grill. Chloe13- nobody said anything about the powertrains. Hyundai has released several very attractive vehicles recently. But it's easy to see where the took most of their styling cues from for each and every one, and not one has had a unique look. Just a blend of several of the better aspects of the competition. (Not criticising them so much as noting what I see)
