Ford considering selling Aston Martin

Hmm... Sell Aston Martin, and not Jaguar or Land Rover? Ford is considering it. Will this help Jaguar, as they've always been positioned under Aston Martin on the corporate Prestige-o-Meter?..
More important, will this help Ford?

Snippet: “As part of our ongoing strategic review, we have determined that Aston Martin may be an attractive opportunity to raise capital and generate value,” Bill Ford, the automaker’s chairman and chief executive, said in a statement.

This is a twist, but it makes sense if they want to let Jaguar go a bit more upscale. Aston has limited what they could do with Jag.

And Jag has limited what they could do with Lincoln.

Move Jag up, so Lincolns can shine. Right now they play 2nd fiddle to Cadillac in the domestic luxury battle.

Smart move! Aston will definitely get a good price & it's the perfect firm to sell. Jaguar, I'm afraid, wouldn't get much money & then would be ruined even more than what it is now. Selling Aston could be the best for everybody.

I say do it. Aston's styling has peaked anyway; a few new cars have come out and they don't look any newer. Yes, I went there.
