Inside Line has a write-up on the '07 Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson. This year the truck moves from the extended-cab to the crew-cab (Super Crew) platform.
In doing so, this ultra-macho Harley-edition now becomes the 98-pound weakling of the F-150 family, as it has the lowest payload of any current F-150, at 990 pounds! That's for the AWD version...

That's more than enough capacity to carry around a couple of hogs. That's what people really do with these things, right?...

Well, maybe "one" hog, as they weigh in around 700 pounds each.

Especially ironic when you consider that Ford is touting the 3000lb payload of one specific F-150 (mentioned elsewhere I believe).

It's sort of like learning that mucho macho Paul Sr. (American Chopper) can only bench press 50 pounds...

Can you fit two hogs in a bed? I dunno.
Yeah, that payload is pretty pathetic. My Forester can haul 900 lbs. It should be in a different league!

How much does the average Harley weigh anyway? These trucks'll end up towing rather than hauling, most likely.

A full-dresser 800 pounds if not more.

This will give you an idea of the weight range of various Harleys.

If that payload includes passengers and any other weight from up front, it's gonna be tight even getting a basic Sportster in there and still making use of the cab for people. Get a driver and three average adults inside the cab (I'm guessing low here) at 150lbs each and you've already knocked off 450 pounds of that 990, so that leaves 550 for the bed? Ouch.

Dudes, where u guys get your info. I got this from the Ford website. I ordered an 07' Harley.
SUPERCAB HARLEY-DAVIDSON™ AWD 1520Maximum Payload (lbs.) 7200 GVWR (lbs.)
http://www.fordvehicles.com/trucks/f150/features/specs/#tow
Also the limitations in tow are the 22" wheels and tires, not the truck it self.
Peace

I got the info from the '07 F-150 brochure.

According to the '07 brochure, unlike the web site, the Harley version is only available in the Super Crew, not Super Cab, which have the figures you've quoted. So, for '06 models you may be correct.
Bottom line either the web site or brochure are wrong. My guess is it's the web site.
