The long-rumored return of Alfa Romeo to the USA is now official. Expect to see the dagger-like grilled cars here by the end of 2009, as 2010 models. The first wave of new Alfas will be facelifted versions of the Brera coupe, the 159 sedan and the Spider.
Snippet: Executives told Inside Line that at least two other future models are under consideration for North America, but not until after 2010...

You'll probably have to move to Europe to get your GTA Carlismo. Word is the USA lineup will be Brera hatch and roadster and 159 sedan and
wagon.
Make mine a dark blue Brera hatchback!

I was an Alfisti in the 70's, owning two Spiders in succession. I loved those cars, as impractical as they were. In my experience they were pretty reliable, if you were faithful with the maintenance. However, NOBODY who wasn't an Alfa specialist could/would work on them.
This brings me to my question: Now that the GM/Fiat fling is over, who will provide the dealer support.? If it's Lamborghini, as I've heard rumored, Alfa is doomed to leave these shores again. There simply aren't enough Lamborghini dealers, and those that exist are going to have shop costs that are too expensive for out of warranty repairs.
That will send us back into the death spiral myth of "unreliable Alfas" because if it's $120 to change the oil, people aren't going to change the oil or they're going to let the Pepboys do the work.

As regard to the GM fan....you can keep your USA built junk...not that American build crudy cars, the workers are capible, but the designers are not... just look at and drive ANY product from GM. take what GM did to SAAB.. what a shame, good car designed bad... THANK GOD that GM sold off the ALfa line ( that's right you GM homie, GM owner 51% of alfa a few years ago)
bring on the alfa, and lancia, and the franch cars and why not the spanish and russians? they are all more interesting that ANY product from GM
