Spy photo: 2009 Porsche Panamera

Last week Porsche's board of management confirmed it will build the Panamera in the company's Leipzig plant. Just this morning we received this shot from Germany of a Panamera prototype testing on the Nurburgring. Sure it looks like a BMW M5, but that's what you're supposed to think. According to shooters in the area, Porsche has been using everything from Cayennes to Audis to this BMW to hide the inner workings of the new super sedan...
From the looks of the smoke coming off the tires, the engine is dialed in quite nicely. Let's hope the design department does its part.

Why do other auto manufacturers use other autos to hide up their future car?

It's a good way to disguise these prototypes from the auto press.
