We've seen the 2008 Dodge Avenger quite a bit lately. It's been showing up all over Michigan in various stages of disguise along with its cousin, the recently spied 2007 Chrysler Sebring . Up until now there were no signs of an SRT version, but this prototype gives us some hope. A rear spoiler, big five spoke wheels and a meaty set of front and rear disc brakes makes it look as though there will be at least an R/T package if not a full blown SRT version...
Then again, maybe there doesn't need to be an SRT version of the Dodge's Hemi-less family sedan.

I'm sure it'll still be FWD, so I doubt the platform could harness the power of the Hemi nicely.
I bet it's mostly a cosmetic package. The Sebring pics I've seen look like a better rental car, no more.
