Chevrolet Kodiak and GMC TopKick C4500 Cinch editions

Inside Line reports that both Chevrolet and GMC will be offering cowboy-like Cinch editions of their 4500 (and likely 5500 too) trucks. These are high-end trucks aimed at those to doing heavy duty 5th-wheel towing and want to do it in the lap of luxury. There's even a Britt Bockius edition. Don't know who Britt Bockius is?..
Well then, you likely don't qualify, as he is a big-name rodeo star who's name will be instantly recognized by the target market.

Snippet: The big GM trucks have been the favorites of buyers who need towing capability for fifth-wheel campers and horse trailers. Now they can get the big vehicles outfitted with features such as a custom console with a DVD player and a 15-inch flip-down entertainment system with headliner-mounted speakers. The Cinch editions will go on sale in July with an average price of about $80,000, GM spokesman Rob Minton told Inside Line. "There's a whole market out there of people who need luxury and big-capability vehicles," he said. "This will fill a need."

I think if Bob won a contest and GM let him pick any car, he'd pick one of these over a Z06. :-)

Nah, I'd pick the new '07 Avalanche. :)

Wow. Now I KNOW I'm in good company. (Mine's STILL on order- come ON GM, get to it!).

Dunno about these big trucks. I guess you must need some serious towing power to need a 4500 over the 2500 / 3500, and to pay about double to cost of the latter models you'd have to be in the target market anyway..

I think I'd take an SRX. Usefully sized but still unibody.

Not me. I've already got my "fun" vehicle. This would be my utilitarian (GM) choice.

A rodeo star edition? Cowboys ...is this truck aimed at alternative lifestyles? Not that there'sanything wrong with that.
