The Infiniti G35 accounts for one in every three Infinities sold in the USA. To say this new model launch is important, would be a great understatement.
The new model has a next-generation VQ engine (already one of the best out there), with dual exhaust and dual intakes. The automatic comes with paddle shifters, plus a lot of the technology from the more expensive M model has trickled down to the new G model...
Front suspension is now a single-pivot design to reduce kickback and improve steering feel. The steering system is also new and is now vehicle speed-sensitive.
Rear suspension has increased camber and toe stiffness for improved high-speed stability.
The Sport model has unique dampers, springs and antiroll bars. Also 18" tires instead of 17s, and wider 245-series rubber in back.
The transmissions are pretty much the same as before but 5-speed auto has downshift rev matching and a yaw rate gyro sensor (so it holds gears in turns).
New stereo system is not a discrete 5.1 setup, but the G's front doors were designed around its 10" front door woofers. Plus, the head unit has a sophisticated, home theater-spec 24-bit chip that allows it to "pull all the nuances off CDs." According to Crahan, "you can even hear when a female singer changes the shape of her mouth." Finally, the system has a 9.5G hard drive so you can store your music in the car.
XM satellite real-time traffic updates are available on cars with the navigation system.
And, yes, the G35 has the requisite push-button start setup, as in the '06 3 Series.
Carlos Ghosn said that the G offers a lot of value for the money, and will be on sale next November.

Not bad, just not quite what I was expecting. Exterior looks ok. Interior is better than current G - but I expected nicer looking materials. The steering wheel looks a bit odd. Don't like the tiered dash with the large knob - ala M.
Surprised that no drivetrain info was provided.
Hope the coupe is closer to the concept car than this sedan.

It looks real nice - like a scaled down M. Can't wait to see other pictures, especially of the inside.
Musica: Are you at the show? How do you know what the inside looks like? If you know where I can find pics, please let me know. Thanks.

looks good, but if it's based on the M chassis and has all of the M's features , are they gonna charge me the M price?

I just hope they didn't change the great exhaust sound too much. It is like music.
