Here's a sneek peek of the 2007 Suzuki XL-7. It's expected to show up at the New York auto show next month and go on sale this fall. Built at the same plant as the Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac Torrent, the seven-passenger XL-7 will ride on a stretched version of GM's Theta platform. No word on engines yet, but with seven passenger capacity we would hope for more than the current XL-7's 2.7-liter V6.

It looks like the headlights have a weird rectangle-fallen-over styling. The part of the grill that can be seen looks okay though. My first thought is that the headlights are going to ruin the face, but I guess I need to wait for the uncovered front to be sure.

Wonder what this re-badgger will have to set itself apart from the Equinox, Vue and Torrent?
And why is GM-Suzuki even bothering with this?

I guess GM needs to fill the void left by oldsmobile's departure. GM just isn't happy unless it's making 4 different versions of the same car.

Well, none of the GM version have 3 rows of seats, so this should be a bit different.
I'm just surprised they didn't start with the Grand Vitara instead?

Suzuki's version will fix all that's wrong with GM's Theta's:
A 240+HP 3.6L OHC engine and 3rd row seating, at the same price of a Torrent. A much better deal in my option. Nox /Torrent are as large as a Highlander, but both RAV4 and Highlander offr 3rd row seats. GM still doesn't have a 7 passanger cross-over like the Freestyle or Pacifica. A Torrent/Nox version of the XL-7 could have helped sales.
