Fear motivates Toyota

Fear is a great motivator—and it certainly works in Toyota's favor. A big reason for their stelar reputation for quality is a fear of failure.

The article makes it sound like recalls are a bad thing, they aren't, not necessarily. It's much better than an automaker denying there is a problem.

I, too, wonder how Toyota will look upon the throne. The problem with being King of the Hill is you gotta still be aggressive, but you need to create new goals.
