Nissan planning for North American launch of larger commercial trucks

Nissan is planning on selling their larger medium-duty commercial trucks here in North America. They also are considering selling a large pickup "based on" the Titan as part of this deal.

Snippet: Soon after that, Nissan is expected to begin selling light-commercial vehicles in North America. The business could include commercial vans and medium-duty trucks, as well as large pickups based on the Titan pickup...
Sounds like Nissan may be considering taking a page out of the Ford truck playbook. I know that with Ford Commercial Truck (only) dealers, they also sell the Super-Duty F-250/350 pickups (and work-spec F-150s too).

Toyota recently launched their Hino lineup of commercial medium-duty (Class 4 – 7) trucks, and now it sounds like Nissan will be next. This is just more evidence that the Japanese are getting serious about trucks and the American market.

Oh... speaking of Hino Trucks: Check out the stylized "H" of the Hino logo. I bet it would be pretty darn easy for Toyota to replace that logo with the Toyota logo, should they decide to market these trucks under the Toyota nameplate too, as the Hino logo and the Toyota logo are virtually the same shape.

Sterling (Chrysler) did exactly that when they bought the large Class 7/8 trucks from Ford a decade back. Look at the Sterling logo. It's the exact same shape as the Ford blue oval logo. It makes for an easy and cheap swap as no other body parts need to be modified to fit the new logo.
