I would be shocked if Dodge didn't release an SRT version of its new Nitro SUV, but don't get your hopes up for a Hemi under the hood. Chief Engineer Rick Reuter told me he thought of that already and it didn't work out. "Too hard to make it work. It just wouldn't fit with all the crash test regulations required up front...
That's too bad, but consider the flip side. There are chief engineers at Dodge trying to stuff Hemi V8s into anything with four wheels. That's a good sign.

Like I said before, maybe an SRT-6 version is in the works using Dodge's 4.0L. Could be interesting with AWD and a manual....

I wonder if the Caliber SRT4's engine could pull this thing around...might not give the linear power you'd want in a heavier SUV.
