Well, it looks like not only is Edmunds gaga over the new Pontiac Solstice
, but so is the car public, as the Wilmington, Del. plant is adding a third shift to meet the demand. Boy, talk about polar extremes: going from the universally damned Aztek, to the universally acclaimed Solstice. It's been quite a ride for Pontiac these last few years is about as big an understatement one can say...
The real test (and question) is does the Solstice have staying power? Will it be around as long as the Miata? Will it cultivate a fanatical customer base needed to sustain it for years to come? Even more important, will it generate the showroom traffic needed to make Pontiac a relevant brand again? Or will the Solstice turn into just one more failed attempt at glory by GM?
