2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport: Ruh-Roh

2012_Wrangler_1600_Jeep_cheater.jpg

Let's make one thing perfectly clear: This is not our 2012 Jeep Wrangler Sport. No one here at Edmunds has ever seen this Jeep before. We swear.

But alert reader Tracy (aka my wife) saw it whilst taking the kids to school this morning, mere blocks from my house.

The possibilities are endless. Before you go to the obvious place, consider these: perhaps this person competed in a cycling event and was later found to be doping, or maybe he (or she) was caught counting cards at the Pechanga Casino; it's also possible this person's Ford-Riley passed through tech after the 24-hours of Daytona and was found to be 75 pounds underweight.

Or maybe...

They got off lightly. I've seen cars with much worse put on them after a relationship ended, as well as lots of damage. I had to replace two tires myself after a gf and I ran into an ex of mine at the movies - seems I was "too polite" for the current gf's liking. I replaced the tires and the gf. She later offered to reimburse me for the tires, but that sort of episode sticks with a guy, so I passed.

Just going out on a limb here, but this was probably a woman scorned who did this, right? Odds are at least. Regardless, whoever did it should have their face and head spraypainted with the same can. Why people think that a relationship problem gives them license to vandalize property is beyond me.

Wait was someone really busted after the 24 for a tech violation?

"Maybe he'll think next time before he cheats . . . "

Yes, that was the first song that came to mind when I saw the pic.

Or maybe she cheated in not completing the off road course?

I know a girl who almost intentionally enters a relationship waiting for the break up to do things like this. She is QUITE good and it's always nice to see the look of humiliation.

Yeah, take it out on the dumb vehicle.

I have seen this done in person, and I think it is despicable.

'"Whilst"? Really?'

Too much Downtown Abbey, perhaps :)

i don't think this requires re-painting. i know someone who had their work van vandalized by taggers and the next day the spray paint was gone.

maybe some serious rubbing compound/buffing by a professional paint restorer?

epbrown says:

Yep, cheap spray paint typically doesn't adhere well, especially of the car is wearing sealant and wax. A quick bout with rubbing compound can remove it most of the time.

Just goes to show that you should never lie about your Jeep's RTI numbers.

Nasty comments spraypainted on a late-model Wrangler? Straight outta Season 1, Episode 1 of "Queer as Folk"
