2011 Chevrolet Volt: For Sale on eBayMotors

Chevy Volt on eBay.jpg

Our 2011 Chevrolet Volt is up for sale now and we decided it would make a great car to offer on eBayMotors. It's only a five-day auction, ending next Tuesday night, so get your bid in quickly. Here's a link to the auction page.

I'll be the first to say it. Didn't you guys keep the Prius longer then a year? I know i'm not the only one who would like to keep reading about the Volt. It's still a fairly new car that I can count on one hand how many I have seen on the road. I'd like to see how it holds up over the next 35k miles.

Couldn't you end the auction early?

The buyer wont be able to take advantage of the $7500 Federal Tax credit or the California $1,500 rebate (starting in March? for new Volts).. this puts a damper on used sales.

Agree w/ what hermperez says. $35k seems way to high for a used Volt. Good luck.

Is the shifter still cracked? What other damage has it sustained?

Wow! Your ebay review reads like a teenage love letter. Is this the same car you guys have been shafting for the last year?

Your posting read like you were intending some Camry buyer to suddenly purchase your Volt because you described the car's most basic function and statistics(40 miles per charge? What was your actual number?). Anyone buying this car would already know all of these things. I feel like it would have been smarter for you to provide you in-depth knowledge and statistics of the car, demonstrating that you were smart owners. I always am reassured when a car's description isn't just fluff.

Well, you do have the CarMax option after it doesn't sell on eBay.

IL is about to find out exactly how little the rest of the country gives a sh!t about the Volt. Good luck breaking the reserve.

You paid $44695 for this car new, and the $7500 credit brought that down to $37195.

Do you really think you can drive a car - any car - for a year, put 15000 miles on it, and only lose $2195 (6%) in value?!

That $27500 bid seems like a fair price, and I doubt it will go much higher.

So why didn't you go to CarMax? Afraid to hear their laughter?

One what planet are you looking to get $35k for a car that people aren't buying for less than that new?

Um, they DID go to CarMax, and CarMax offered them $32k for it, and that offer is still good.

And as of right now, the bidding on ebay is up over $30k.

So to me their decision to offer it on ebay for $35k sounds pretty smart.

I understand that lots of people don't like the Volt, but...

That is so funny. I was just looking at Volts on eBay and I saw one and though "that looks like the Inside line Volt". So I decided to come here and look at the license number and compare it. Mystery solved.

"Over" ... by a whopping $1.99 at this writing, several hours after you posted your comment. The Volt bidding war isn't exactly setting the world on fire (leave that to its battery pack.)

Good luck selling it in CA with the HOV-allowed Volts going on sale in a month.

uawh8r says:

2:45 to go, still $30,001.99.

And so it ends.

Seems that someone should share this result with CarMax before they cut that check for $32K...
