The other night I got stuck in some pretty awful traffic. It ended up taking almost 30 minutes to get home from the supermarket, which was only a mile away. Besides fearing that my pint of Ben & Jerry's was turning into a milkshake in the trunk, the cabin started getting a little hot and stuffy. So, I hit the AC button.
A cacophony of rattling and belt noise sprung from under the hood. "Well, that's not good," I said. I tried it once more and left it on for a few seconds, but the racket continued. Alright, time for the windows.
It was so loud and rough, it reminded me of this:
By the way, my favorite Tosh.O comment on this video was, "Oh great, R2D2's having a seizure."
Just another item to look into, I suppose; preferably before the weather starts heating up.

Wow. It only takes 15-20 minutes to walk 1 mile. At some point it's better to just park the car and come back for it after traffic clears.

True, but I hate walking and we had six bags of groceries. Plus, the ice cream. I can't eat it all at once.

Mark, I used to walk 1.5 miles from the store to my flat with 4-6 bags of groceries when I was studying in Oxford. I'd rather do that than sit in a car going nowhere for a half hour.

Being from So-Cal I can relate to this...the song that goes, "Nobody walks in L.A." is pretty accurate. Even if you could make the trip by bike, foot, or skateboard, everone seems to travel by car for some reason.

Wait, you don't need no AC in a convertible....oh....sorry.

Thank you, Mark. After a long day of work - still in progress, I might add - I needed that video.

Man, that's the exact reason why I could never live in LA.

I looked at this photo, and the photo of the pedals and floor mats, and the photo of the seat, from a couple of other Miata blog posts, and I have to wonder...why does the interior of this car look like the interior of a five-year-old Autozone parts truck? I know it's an old car with light-colored seats and carpets, but could you maybe clean it up?
