Going back and looking at our semi-recent posts on the S60, I've noticed how a few editors have noted that the car has grown on them. Basically, the more they drive it, the more they like it.
You can count me in that group, too. I can't really give you a definitive reason as to why we've reacted this way. Maybe it's because Volvo's been lacking a competitive entry-luxury sedan for so long that we've just been pleasantly surprised. Or maybe it's because the S60's character is very well suited for daily driving/commuting, which is what we mostly do with our long-term cars. Maybe it's both. But I will say the S60 is one of my top five favorite cars in the fleet right now.

Man, that's a good-looking car.
It grows on me without even driving it, although the headroom spec tells me I wouldn't fit in it. :(

Headroom is an issue with this car. I sat in one at the dealer and my head was hitting the roof. I am 6'6" but I fit in most cars just fine. Too bad because I do like the looks inside and out. I also like the XC60 so might have to go that route since i actually fit in that vehicle.

When a car is inoffensive and handsome in styling rather than crazy, when everything you see is thoughtfully done, when everything you feel and touch is just pleasant to use, and when everything simply decides to work well... it's easy for a car to grow on you. Honda had this formula back in the 80's to mid 2000's, and I'm getting the impression that this Volvo is much the same way.

This is not a cheap car. It doesn't deserve low expectations. The question is, how does it do relative to its price point?

$41,350. I don't think that price entitles a car to low expectations. It better be pretty good.

I think price is the main issue with all Volvos and that's something that's not really accounted for when you drive a fleet of cars that you don't have to pay for yourself.

1000 miles driving at 2012 S60 T5 and I must agree. Very nice car. The more I drive it, the more I like it. Smooth, quiet, great seats. Sweet ride. And the premium stereo is very good.

If headroom is an issue, don't get the sun/moon roof. Tons of headroom without the sunroof.

I was little skeptical about buying the s60 after being an acura owner for the past 10 years. i've owned acura tl's and tsx's in those 10 years with no issues, but acura hadn't changed the body style and decided on the s60. best decision i've made in years. the car catches your eye, comfortable and well constructed. have had it since may 2012 and everyday i like it more.
