2011 Nissan Juke: One, Maybe Two

juke_crg.jpg

I know the Juke has four doors and can technically hold five people, but as my recent trip to Vegas to cover CES showed, I don't think the Juke could hold the bags of more than two people.

As I went to photograph the absolutely massive convention for two days, I packed a normal sized duffel bag, a camera bag, a pair of boots and a gear belt. Looking at the picture shows that not much of the trunk remains. Any other bags would have wound up in the back seat.

Is that the end of the world? Hardly. But, if you're in the market for a little adventure vehicle, it would be wise to lay out the stuff you, and possibly your companion, bring along and imagine having to stuff it all inside the Juke. Maybe you don't need to bring the big cooler after all...

I would say that any photographer from SoCal named Kurt is probably required by law to be rocking the black Doc Martens.

Total Schprockets.

I've got the same boots...they plow through WI winters like a...like a...plow, I guess.

You have plenty of extra space if you stand the suitcase up. That's not exactly a packed cargo hold.

My thoughts exactly. Looks like there's actually room for almost twice that much stuff.

Of course more space is more space but this is the nature of the vehicle. If you need more space in your crossover a Nissan dealer would be happy to show you a Rogue or Murano.

I'm compelled to keep asking. Where's the side-by-side comparison between the Juke and Countryman. The Countryman is leaving the fleet soon so you're about to miss the chance. If it helps my case: newcartestdrive.com just posted their 2012 Juke review and it's chock full of Countryman references.

I was surprised at how cramped this vehicle is aft of the b-pillars. Backseat legroom feels worse than a lot of compact cars, and the cargo area is badly restricted by the bulging tail light flares and raked back window. If I wanted a small 5-door with a sporty character I think I would suffer the power loss and go for a Mazda 3 or Focus or Golf, unless AWD was an absolute necessity. This is definitely a niche vehicle.

But put the one seat down on the very right and u have much more cargo room, don't get the awd and there's is lots of room under the back floor, although yea its not the most comfy for loading up 4-5 ppl and goin on a vacation

You can always put a roof rack on it and stow gear up top.

OMG!.. either thats a tiny car or Kurt wears size 24 boots.

You know the seats fold down, making a perfectly flat, and rather large cargo area? Are you that lazy?
