2010 Mitsubishi Outlander GT: Wrapping Up

2010_mitsubishi_outlander_f34_wrap-up.jpg

One year and 20,000 miles later we say farewell to our 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander GT.

We experienced no major problems with our Outlander GT. A wheezy air conditioning system and creaky seats were the main annoyances.

I just rolled 18K miles in my Outlander GT yesterday so I'm not piling on the miles as fast as IL (or even as fast as the supposed 12K/year average that people drive).

The AC issue should have been re-addressed by IL. It's known that Mitsu got a bad batch of compressors from their supplier. My AC has always been strong and has handled the midwestern heat wave with no issues whatsoever.

And while I had the squeak from the 3rd row, it went away. Not sure if it stopped or is just muffled by the cargo mat but I haven't heard it in over a year.

There have been no recalls on the Outlander that I'm aware of. For maintenance mine has only needed oil changes (every 7500 miles) & tire rotations so far. The only repair was replacing a broken windshield (thank you random rock-throwing truck).

As noted in the wrap-up comments fuel economy is coming in slightly better than EPA. For me that's 21.2 MPG with E10 gas under all conditions: hot summer, cold/snowy winter, city, highway, suburban loaded with just me, 5 adults, 7 people, or me + 900 pounds of cargo. Range could be longer, but the tank is less than 16 gallons.

I can't recall if i've every seen one of these on the streets. I'm sure I have, but they jsut blend into the background for me, just like the Lancer.

Whenever a Mitsubishi leaves the fleet 2 shall come to take its place

You only have one Mitsubishi in the fleet now! I guess we'll be getting at least 3 new ones to keep up the quota. So what will it be, a Galant? An Eclipse? Another Lancer?

We're giving serious thought to putting a lovingly maintained Diamante in the fleet. What do you think?

I meant to suggest that but forgot to include it in my list. You can count on my full backing.

Well then, it's certainly about time for Mitsubishi to give you another long-term Outlander to test...

So either someone installed a flux capacitor or the assesment was made before you got the vehicle.... otherwise how could the wrap up be published Jun 25, 2010?
