Build Ford tough.

It's kind of funny that on the prior blog post that this was said:
"Best of all...it doesn't care. Its alignment is still good. It cruises at 75 without vibration and there's no more road noise now than there has ever been. It's indifferent to this stuff."
I guess maybe it cares just a little bit. I'm still impressed that this is the only bit that has malfunctioned after that off-roading adventure...

Jeez it doesn't take long for the trolls to come out and make gross generalizations about Ford Quality. When will people realize that these days cars are pretty equal with respect to quality construction. And that ALL cars have issues here and there. Hey they're still built by humans and robots who are programmed by humans. Hence fallible...

Take it from someone who grew up in a ford family, whether quality is up or down, over the course of 50,000 miles a trim piece or seal will come loose at some point in every ford car on the road. Its never a big deal, and you move on with your life.

A trim piece will come loose in just about every make and model over the course of its life. I would wager that Toyota and Honda are just as fallible and perhaps even a BMW or Mercedes would have that happen.

When you pull the front door shut on a Supercab, the whole truck shudders. I would hate to have to put up with that every time I got into it. And imagine the extra shudder when someone closes the front passenger door at the same time.
The crew cab version, with a B pillar, does not shudder. Ford should redesign the Supercab with a B pillar.

I've actually noticed this too. You feel the shockwave ripple through the body. It's probably not related to this dislodged trim panel, but it's weird. I've never noticed this in anything other than an F-150 before.

Perhaps a rubber mallet will solve the pin issue?

Noticed the same shudder too when closing the SC doors and when go over certain kinds of bumps - like RR crossings.
The other day I was driving next to one - off its left rear corner - and I noticed shockwaves going through the body panel between the front edge of the bed and rear wheel well as the truck went over some rough pavement, pretty weird.

Modern trim clips in cars are absolutely ABSURD in how tough they are to remove, so I doubt this piece rattled loose. More likely, someone or something caught it and pulled it loose and it just wasn't noticed. The clips, however, can be made of plastic that can break if not pulled loose correctly. So you may need to replace the clip in order to seat the trim back in place. If it's metal, it may need to be bent back to the correct shape. Either way, a trip to the dealership to let them handle it will solve your issue.

Rick must have some weird Matrix-like vision going on!
As for the door, this is nothing duct tape can't fix!

In the first picture, isn't something broken near the top of the inner panel that the trim panel would cover? Sure looks like it.

Hmm, 11K on my '10 F-150 XLT and no such problems. Then again I treat it better than some parents treat their kids, and it's not a Raptor so I dont off-road with it.

Although my comment may have been "trollish" I have been through more issues with my 2011 Ford than most car owners probably go through in the lifetime of vehicle ownership. Some of these included panels not being fully set in, various rattles requiring disassembling of interior, driver seat rail not being bolted in fully, upholstery on driver seat needing to be remounted, and a malfunction in the fuel pump relay circuitry that killed my entire engine in the middle of driving through an intersection that resulted in the car getting towed to the dealership twice before finally solving.

Typical Ford fanboy, gotta defend their cheap crap when it breaks!

True - just the other day the first piece of trim came loose on my 1989 4Runner with 275k mi (still going strong).
