If I ever win the lottery, I'm buying a few acres and just paving it. Then I'm buying a lifetime supply of tires.

I've always been an import guy but I have to admit that the new 5.0 mustang looks like a LOT of fun.

You should see how long you can lay down burnout stripes with the new motor. I don't remember that it was part of the previous "competitions" with the Camaro, etc..

Why anyone would ever buy one of your long-termers has always been a mystery to me.

I bought their 05 Mustang GT and never had a problem with that car

@noburgers, you don't think a normal mustang owner is going to do burnouts? You don't think ford thinks their owners are going to do burnouts?
I wouldn't buy any of their cars because they destroy the interiors, otherwise they drive them pretty normally.

"You don't think ford thinks their owners are going to do burnouts?"
I dont think Ford plans on their cars being abused. Your definition of abuse may be different than mine of course. I lit up the rear tires once in a while when on a quick take off in my 05 GT but never tried for a huge burnout. I simply cant fathom at the age of 44 any reason to abuse cars and tires. Especially when actually paying for them out of my own pocket. A simple human trait is that when one does not have to pay to maintain something, one uses it differently. Even though the LT cars are well maintained, I would NEVER buy one that was a high performance car, NEVER. A car like the Cruze or Regal, no problem because they just arent driven the same way. And especially one with a manual transmission. I bet the Mustangs trans or clutch will not survive this test.......any takers?
jjacquot says:

I'll take that bet.
Here's what I propose: If the Stang's trans or clutch fails before 20,000 miles, I'll eat my words publicly in a blog proclaiming your prophesy as truth. If, however, the Stang's powertrain lives to 20K, you're not allowed to be the fun police on this blog ever again.
Deal?
bodyblue says:

Hmmmmmm LOL ok thats a pretty tough bet! By "fun police" you mean I cant complain that burn-outs are stupid? OK DEAL! :)
If the Mustangs trans or clutch does not fail I will NEVER complain about burn outs being stupid.
If you lose then you will publicly state that burn-outs are stupid and abuse cars.
This is kinda not fair since I like the Mustang and hope it stays together! LOL :)
You ARE ON! Light 'em up!

That drivetrain will survive with flying colors notwithstanding any defects, anomolies, or the like.
I've got 21,000 miles on my 2011 5.0 with plenty of smoky burnouts, donuts, autocrosses, drag races, powershifts, etc on tires with far more grip than the stock 255mm Pirelli PZero's. I am a very immature driver and I love every minute of it. :D

Mileage is around 9K.
*Shaking hands.* Me and bodyblue...we've got an agreement.
