Scott,
Can we keep it a little longer? At least until September? I'll wash it every week, promise.

Does Kraftwerks make a blower for this one?
but seriously... Start a project to see what it takes to make this a ZR1 contender. Cash, parts, time, tuning. How to retain its livability. Can you get ZR1 performance for 1/3rd the price? (35k including the cost of the car.)
Do it please.

indy720: I'm not sure about Kraftwerks, but there are plenty of blower (and turbo) kits out for Corvette's. Matching the HP/handling numbers of a ZR-1 shouldn't be too hard. It would be doing it all and matching the daily comfort of the ZR-1's suspension that might be hard.
I second keeping it around for the summer though. IL should compare the Z06 to the new 911. Which is easier to maintain, faster, more practical, comfortable, more reliable, cheaper, etc. A nice Long Term Comparo of extra-high-performance sports cars for the not very rich.

It would be fun to turn it into a project car. I vote for throwing an STS twin turbo kit on it. 570hp and 3,200 lbs. = fun insanity.

Just sold my Z last week to make way for a more practical IS350. I will always vouch that the c5Z is the most fun and performance you can get for the money...period. Unless it has to go, keep it for a few more months and you will thank yourselves later!
