Get the codes, and it will point you in the direction of the problem. Often these tend to be sensor problems.

A tech 2 will tell
I'm sure you can get access to one

Send the EBTCM to these guys?

Seems to be a common problem and the fix is no more than a couple hundred bucks.

I think any one who owns a wrench would not say "Ummmmmmm that can't be good!"

Nothings broken, something needs a code and servicing, you could probably do it yourself! You are reacting like a typical know nothing driver.

Go to Auto Zone and they'll scan the code for free. They'll even give you a printout with the possible causes/fixes for it. They just can't clear it though to shut the check engine light off. Then you'll at least have an idea if it's something you can do yourself or not.

I think the car sounds fine. Get it checked out at some point. Otherwise, don't worry.

Carnak Says - You've done the air flow meter, new code will point you to the O2 sensor....

The free AutoZone check is not going to work here. AutoZone uses a generic scan tool that can check for generic trouble codes but this is a problem specific to the Vette or actually GM products. The GM scan tool will be needed to access the BCM.

Please tell me that you are aware that you can retrieve the codes with an index finger and 5 seconds of your time. With the ignition on (car off) push and hold the options button and press the fuel button 4 times within about 5 seconds. This will scan and display each code one at a time and at the end you can hit clear to clear the codes and see when they come up again.

blkzeosix is correct. Awesome feature that I think should be standard on all cars. OBD stands for "On Board Diagnostics" and being able to read the codes through the digital dash display without a separate code reader is the proper use for such a system. However, the Corvette is one of the few cars that let you do it.

Also, it's not engine related. If it was, it would display a "check engine" light on the console, and display "service engine soon" on the information console. So, this is probably related to the active handling error, or could be a maintenance reminder.

That's freakin' sweat that you can check and clear codes without tools! Of course they used one of GM's super secret door knocks to access it of course. Why do they do that? My truck has a headlight switch, but also has automatic headlights. The only way for the big obvious switch to be used is to first push the dome light override button X number of times within a few seconds, and of course it reverts as soon as you turn the truck off. You would think they could find a slightly less awkward way of doing things. But still, really cool that you can do it at all.

Whatever the problem, problems will be continual with a GM. Get used to it. My dad always called these Mickey Mouse type problems. Nothing serious, but enough to get it into the shop in an attempt to allow GM to make money. I had a 88 Chevy S-10 Blazer. While it was a decent vehicle for what it was (purpose, capability), it always had some sort of miscellaneous problem (usually minor). It was near continual. Never again.
