2010 Suzuki Kizashi GTS: Seat Satisfaction

kizashi front int.jpg

Daddy-o and I logged a few hundred miles on the Kizashi yesterday. As stated in my previous post, we decided to cruise up to Santa Barbara for a lil' road trip before watching the Super Bowl. It also gave me a chance to get another passenger's opinion on the Kizashi.

JDP Senior ("Joe" in this case) was duly impressed by the upscale interior, exclaiming "This is a Suzuki? It rides nearly as nice as Joe's Mercedes." (My brother has an '04 S500). The Kizashi's quiet ride and lack of powertrain vibration were also likely key factors in that opinion. But for both of us the seats were the most impressive aspect of the cabin. Ideally contoured and firm but not unyielding, they provided generous under-thigh support and kept our finicky backsides comfortably content throughout the four-plus hours we spent in 'em.

I'm always amazed how well the seats fit me: I'm big and tall, and find that the seats hit me in all the right places. Everything that you see and come in contact with in the interior feel richer and more expensive than they have any right to be for the money.

This car and blog has made me take a second look at suzuki. Unfortunately, they don't make an awd wagon version of this car.

For me, the great seats create an outstanding first impression. Thus far, have only sat in one. But, the seats, combined with the look and feel of the rest of the interior tell me that Suzuki went the extra distance to get everything that matters most just right.

OMG...are people finally seeing the light after nearly 150 positive posts by the editors and Kizashi owners? will wonders never cease?

I've heard great things about the Kizashi and it looks intriguing. And yet I have still not seen one on the road (and I would notice it if I did). I live in a small college town, but still.....
