2010 Honda Accord Crosstour: Kiddie Praise

crosstour_profile_1600.jpg

We were expecting some friends to drop by anytime, so my daughter decided to stalk them from our front yard.

"What kind of car do they have?" she asked.

"A Honda," I replied. "Accord Crosstour, white, like the one I sometimes drive."

"I can't think of a Crosstour," she began when the spunky little neighbor girl piped in.

"I know the Crosstour!" she yelled. "It looks like a rabbit!"

I raised my eyebrows, giving her an admonishing sidelong glance.

"I'm not being mean," she replied earnestly. "Everyone thinks bunnies are cute."

Hard to argue with the logic of a seven-year-old car enthusiast.

She's right, the car does resemble a rabbit sitting on it's haunches.

So you were waiting for Scott Oldham to arrive during the full week he spend in the car and during which he couldn't find anything to complain about the car? Did he step out of it to see how it looks like?

Also, given that the car is about to leave the fleet (almost 20k miles) and the last two lukewarm posts about it am I wrong to assume that you are trying to polish the turd before returning it to Honda?

I'm thinking VW rabbit, so from that viewpoint no, but I see where she is coming from.

Its good to see someone's kid still has imagination.

looks nothing like a rabbit. Looks like a big-rear-ended-insect

Lol gotta love kids. My little bros recently accompanied my mother and I to the local honda dealer because she wanted to pick up an insight, and the cars they were the most smitten with were the fit, cr-z and crosstour.

I agree that it does seem to resemble a rabbit sitting on it's haunches. I totally see where the kid is coming from. It has a real bulkiness in the rear where no other vehicle does.

That isn't a flattering pose of the CT, but white makes even a sloping car like the CT look like a fridge. It looks better in darker colors. I like the looks, in general. If it had the important things that I want, and if it were cheaper, I would consider buying one. But I can get an AWD Outback, 6 cylinder, sunroof, etc. for at least a few K less.

I shopped the ex-l 4wd against the outback limited w/moon roof. These are very similarly equipped at these trim levels and the crosstour can be had for less than the outback. Two dealers were willing to come down more than $5k on the crosstour and the financing is better. I picked one up this month and I absolutely love it.
