2011 Mazda 2 Touring: Dreamy Options

mazdadempsey.jpg

Check out the 2011 Mazda 2 at the LA auto show last year looking so smart with those black wheels. Black wheels also showed up on the Mazda 2 Evil Track at SEMA this week; the same 949Racing 6UL wheels that are on our 1994 Project Miata (which is still alive by the way, more later).  If only they were available as an option. I mean, even Scion has black alloy wheels ($2K) available for its xD. Besides chainsaws, what options would you like to have seen on the Mazda 2?

how about a sport suspension to reduce body roll, 3 door model, armrest, and of course a selection of wheel covers for sport model and alternate wheels for touring. The 2 seems to have all the basics covered at least in touring trim. I am glad the 2 is barely a fiesta with all its expensive buttony gadgets.

Jeez I wonder how much Mazda paid for McDreamy to model for the diminuative 2?

i wonder what engine would be used in a speed2. The base engine is only 100 hp so even a 140 hp engine would seem speedy. But it would be so fun. I am tempted to return my gti at lease end next year if a tiny hatch is available with similar qualities.

Turbo and RWD.

McDreamy is a Mazda advertising voice talent and may have a few personal appearances in his contract if he's available. Or, since he's a gearhead who owns a racing team and races himself, maybe he just dropped by the stand when there were photographers there.

He does race an RX-8 in the Grand-Am series.

So does this mean Project Miata is still on?
