I kept the cargo area of our long-term 2009 Ford Flex very busy this weekend. As usual the Flex handled every situation I could throw at it.
Go the next page for more pictures of cargo hauling fun.
Four slot mags (15 x 8.5) I bought off of Craigslist last summer. The kids and I took them to the polisher. With any luck my 1976 Pontiac Trans Am will be wearing them soon.
A quite large play kitchen I'm glad to get out of my family room.
My prized concours-quality Green Machine. Notice it fit without having to fold-down the second row seats.
A six-foot ladder.
The May 1980 issue of Car Craft.

I know this is slightly off topic, but what's the update on the '94 Miata?

Will it take a 4x8 sheet of plywood/drywall etc like most minivans?

@tomslick2
Hard to say but I think it would barely fit with both 2nd row seats down and maybe the front seats angled right.

Nice vintage mags. What are they going on?

It could have been a Miata update. We could have seen what parts fit to be carried off to their new owner.

Hey Felonious, how is your Flex doing?

When I was in high school the guys I hung around with though ourselves sooooo sophisticated because we read Car Craft instead of Hot Rod! I am sure I have that 1980 issue around in the garage somewhere.

Hey bodyblue, thanks for asking. It's doing very well. It well over 13k miles on it now, with 7 months on the clock. I did need to get the sub and amp changed out recently (under warranty), but that's the only issue so far. Driving my wife's SVT Focus while the Flex was in the shop reminded me of how huge the Flex is, but it also reminded me how quiet and comfy it is too. My wife has finally admitted that she likes the Flex and is glad we own one. That's a MAJOR victory!

The only problem I had with my 05 Mustang was with the stereo head unit.....it crapped out and had to be replaced after about 9 months......what happened to the amp in the Flex?

Bodyblue: it was making a weird rhythmic thumping noise when the ignition was turned on, whether the radio was on or off. Very strange, but the noise is gone now.

It will NOT take a full sheet of ply-wood - thats what the trailer and 3,000 lbs towing (800 lbs tounge weight) is for...
felonious: odd issue to have. I need to get the dash off to see what those connectors look like. Before taking delivery I had to have the XM attena plugged into the unit correctly. It seems to me that they have some issues during assemply...... hmmm
