2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS: Ripe for Stripes

CamaroStripes_lead.gif

Muscle cars look great with stripes. When it comes to our 2010 Camaro SS, I was wondering what color and what kind? The animated GIF above runs through a few colors using double-thick stripes. I think I like the dark red and gray ghost stripes best. Click through to see some thick 'n' thin stripes and my absolute road-inspired version.

I'm not sure why, but I think purple works on these stripes.

And my favorite. Passing is not allowed against this Camaro.

What do you think?

I think the grey looks the best.

The maroon remind me of an identical combo on a 2006 GTO I test drove when new. I just could not go silver -- too bland for such sporting intentions. I went with a used navy blue 2005 (MBM in GTO speak) instead.

I second the grey, in the center. There's something about the off center that doesn't work for me. It's like the bulbous hood was just askin' for some additional decoration.

i agree. i like the dark red. tho, it seems to need something on the side? pins? maybe just me.

Dark grey in the center. The other ones are hideous.

Stripes belong on two cars and two cars only.

Ford GT
Dodge Viper

That is all.

Gee, Mark, we need a pause button here.

But, I would go with the yellow down the middle because it blends nicely with the Chevy logo on the grill and with the fog lamps.

The grey looks OK, but it isn't flashy enough for a car like this.

My nephew's 2SS is orange with silver center stripes. They were installed, perfectly, by the dealer so I would assume they are stock. But, in addition to two wide stripes, there are two thin stripes spaced about a half inch outboard of each wide one. It looks good.

After the striping you can paint the wheel center caps yellow. That might look good also.

how about no stripes,

if anything I would get some 'stripe' for the sides of the hood bulge and maybe a subtle side stripe

if you got racing stripes you are also required to leave a mullet wig in the glove compartment at all times

They look really cool on a Mini Cooper too. Don't know why but they really suit the cartoonish looks.

Definitely the dark red or gray.
