This drives me crazy. The Viper is overdue for a service anyway. We'll get the steering wheel straightened out when we take it to the dealer.

Adds character.

I don't know... every car I've ever owned has had the steering wheel tilted slightly to the left. I always assumed it was because of the crown in the road. The cars always tracked straight and true.

I figured that having the wheel being slightly to the left was just to ensure in case you drift off to sleep while driving this car for some reason you'll be certain to drift into oncoming traffic and kill yourself.

Carguy622 basically said what I was going to say. It seems pretty normal for most cars.

I never really understood how this happens to a car. My father's car has a really bad tilt to the left, but I've never had that problem. The car tracks straight, just looks funny.

My FJ is off to the left, not sure how it happened as it was fine one night and crooked the next morning. I took it to the dealer yesterday to get fixed and got the worst car in the world for a loaner, a Camry Hybrid.

I had this on my 2006 Civic SI when I picked it up from the factory. I got it re-aligned for free at 500 miles, and it's been straight ever since. My concern was that it was improperly transported, screwing up the alignment.
It's EXTREMELY EASY to get your steering system setup with the wheel off-center. It's an adjustment rod coming out of the steering box on most vehicles.
Drives me nuts too.
