The other day I posted about how fresh our long-term 2009 Audi A4 Avant feels after more than 30,000 miles and the abuse of 25 editors. Some of you asked me for any example, so I'm back with a photo of the A4's driver's seat.
Check it out, even the bolster looks new.

At 100k+ miles, my A4 is finally starting to show wear and tear on the interior.
Glad to see they are maintaining their quality standards. Makes it more likely that I'll get another Audi (though I do love driving the E90 M3)

Yeah, bolsters. You should see the seats you get if you don't spring for one of the 'Sport', 'Titanium Sport' or "S-line' packages. One of the more bothersome things about the A3 as well, considering you're already paying a considerable premium over the GTI which has nice seats standard.

That's good to hear. When I was lookin at the previous generation A4 i noticed that in nearly all the cars I looked at, the buttons (especially climate control buttons) paint had come off and were white plastic. The rest of the interior held up well though

Unlike the M3 these bolsters most likely are vinyl or polyurethane.

"Pleather" bolsters make alot more sense in cars. Leather is well suited for the armrest, butt-section, and backside section.
Subaru did this well in the 2005-2009 Legacy GT - perforated leather on the sections that matter, making it breathable and comfortable. "Pleather" everywhere else, which felt fine and holds up extremely well with almost no maintenance.
P.s. My 2008 Subaru Legacy GT with 50k miles on it looks equally as good, though with more creases on the side from where the bolster "crushes" getting in and out. My 2006 Civic SI with 93k miles is wearing great (cloth), but the cloth has a suedelike feel that is starting to look slightly ratty in that ara.

@autok,
Give it time. Everything will come off - the rubberized stuff Audi uses is cheap and the warranty doesn't cover it.

It'll keep its shape and form well until it cracks as it did in my previous S-Line A3.
