I don't know if I can read this blog anymore it makes me sad, but also happy. Then I feel like a little kid and my "friend" has rubbed in my face his bigger and better bike, then I'm just bitter... haha.

Corvette and Miata engine trade... Go!

The Miata is the most fun for the buck money can buy. Just like the old adage, how fast do you want to go and how much money do you have.

Imagine putting your little Miata into a space... glancing back as you walk away at your pearly, hardtop track rat; knowing you put into it your blood, sweat and tears.
Then you come back an hour and a half later to find these buffoons with too much money and their 'arrest me red' american exotics giving you a true lesson in one-upmanship.

That's ok tbecker, it isn't hard (or expensive) to make that little Miata track rat into a track monster that will embarrass both those cars on many road courses.
If you're into rubbing it into faces, I'll bet it is quite satisfying to stand around the time sheets and strike up conversations with exotic owners....
-Miata owner:
"Oh, you ran a 1:26, that's a really good time, that Viper must be really difficult to drive quickly with all that power"
-Viper owner:
"Well, you know it definitely requires some car control skill. But I've got a lot of experience. So, how did you do today?"
-Miata owner:
"Well, my tires are kind of heat cycled, but I still managed a 1:23. I think I can go a little faster though"
-Viper owner:
"1:23? What are you driving?"
-Miata owner:
"That orange Miata over there. It's got a pretty hot motor in it, makes almost 180 hp naturally aspirated. It's still streetable, but I'm thinking of going pure track with it".
-Viper owner: swallows his gum and suddenly feels self conscious about his Viper ball cap.
Now, I'm not a Miata owner (or a Viper owner). But I do know more than a few Miata guys who can pull this off (the lap times are real, the exchange is not). Viper guys actually tend to be pretty track focused for exotic owners, so I give them props for actually using their cars in an appropriate manner :) but cheap track cars are inherently low risk (meaning you don't cry yourself to sleep if you wreck em) which means your balls tend to get bigger when you're driving them.

On the nose! Although Emilio isn't the kind to talk shit around the timing sheets. He'll just go blitz you into turn 2 at Streets. And to be fair, I shorted him with the 1:23 reference - it was a 1:22 something :)
I trust you're consulting with him on the build for this car....
